Eco-solvents are practically odour free and do not require special ventilation or environmental equipment, either. Currently, eco-solvents are available in six colors: cyan, magenta, yellow, black, light cyan and light magenta.

These inks are ultraviolet durable, an important distinction in today’s market and offer the widest color gamut in their ink class. Printing with eco-solvent inks also offers outdoor water resistance for up to three years, but lamination is recommended for applications that require abrasion resistance.
 
Eco-solvent inks are far less aggressive than their full solvent counterparts, yet these inks are very popular today. Major printer manufacturers are catering to the demand with new machines.

 

Eco-friendly and green films are made by a number of our suppliers. These base films are polypropylene, polyethylene based films, polyester based films and fabrics which in addition to their innate functional benefits do not contain PVC’s (poly vinyl chlorides). Some of these films are coated with aqueous based acrylic adhesives, which utilizes H2O (water) rather than a solvent to disperse the acrylic adhesives. These films have either a polyester (PET) release liner, which can be recycled and used as re-grind in other polyester based products or a paper based release liner which can be recycled or decomposed. Some of the films are unsupported, i.e. without adhesive and without release liner and can be recycled.
